Who we are

History

Club founding story

Durban AC is the world's second-oldest running club, carrying forward an extraordinary legacy of nearly 150 years. More than just a club, it is a community built on tradition, excellence, and camaraderie, where generations of experienced runners inspire, mentor, and support athletes of every ability.

Training

Club for all

Our weekly training programme is designed for every runner, regardless of experience or ability. Across four organised sessions each week including track nights, beachfront time trials, and long runs you can choose the group that matches your pace, goals, and comfort level. Whether you're taking your first steps or training for your next marathon, you'll always have a place to belong.

Community

Club culture

Durban AC is built on friendship, not competition. Our members support, mentor, and inspire one another, creating a welcoming community where every achievement from your first run to your fastest race is celebrated together.
